Yüksek lisans tezini “İstanbul’da Tasavvuf: Dinî Pratikler, Duyusal Algılar, Kentsel Mekân” başlığı ile 2010 yılında tamamlamıştır. “İstanbul’da Aziz Mahmud Hüdayî: Bir Mekânın Biyografisi” ismindeki doktora tezi çalışması (2020 yılında Centre for Religious Studies, Ruhr-Universität Bochum’a teslim etmiştir) için uzun yıllar Üsküdar’da saha araştırması yapmıştır.
